Ángeles Blancas´continual presence at opera houses on the international circuit means that she is one of the most preeminent sopranos of her generation.  Her manifold vocal and musical qualities, along with her acting skill make her a unique artitst, habitually appearing in many programmes on the international opera scene. 

Since her debut in a concert with Plácido Domingo, Blancas has performed in many of the most important theatres in the world, including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden (London), Opernhaus Zürich, La Monnaie (Brussels), Washington Opera, Carnegie Hall (New York), Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the Fenice in Venice, the San Carlo in Naples, Ópera de Roma, Ópera de Montecarlo, the Gran Teatro del Liceo (Barcelona) and Teatro Real (Madrid), among many others.

Die Zauberflöte is the opera that launched a career that has been acclaimed by audiences and critics alike, from the very start.   Sharing the stage with the likes of Plácido Domingo, Leo Nucci, Jonas Kaufmann, Marcello Giordani and Carlos Álvarez, Blancas´ repertoire evolves constantly, beginning with titles such as La fille du régiment and Semiramide, being followed by operas like La voix humaine (Barcelona, Leipzig, Venice and Las Palmas), La Juïve (Zurich and Amsterdam), Simon Boccanegra (Oviedo), Die Gezeichneten (Palermo), Aida (Basel), Adriana Lecouvreur (London) and Andrea Chénier (Bregenzer Festspiele).

The conductors Marco Armiliato, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Thomas Hengelbrock, Vladimir Jurowski, Franck Ollu, Antonio Pappano, Nello Santi, and Alberto Zedda, and the directors Calixto Bieto, Andrea Breth, Robert Carsen, Jonathan Miller and Graham Vick, among others, have all worked with her and have been full of praise for her work.   Ángeles Blancas has also been extremely successful in the field of concerts and recitals. 

Some of her most exciting recent projects include Jenufa (Kostelnicka) in Bologna and Palermo, Vec Makropoulos in Venice and Strasbourg, La fanciulla del West (Mexico), Dallapiccola´s Il Prigioniero in London, Rome and Hamburg, and her debut in the title role of Salome. Upcoming engagements include productions at the Teatro de La Monnaie in Brussels, Oper Stuttgart and the Teatro Regio in Turin.
